Pastor Ralph Tausz, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Apostles, Melrose Park, IL, will be leading a workshop entitled Visiting the Homebound. Below is a description of the workshop.
In this workshop, we will review the ABCs of a very basic pastoral duty—the shut-in call. We will address very fundamental questions such as: Who qualifies as a homebound member? Do I schedule ahead or just drop in? How frequently do I visit? What equipment should I have? Where do I set up the Holy Supper in their home? What service ordos should I consider? What texts should I proclaim? What do I leave behind?
